About Us

The Bodhi Bus was established in March 2009 to offer remote communities a reliable and professional bus passenger service which aims to improve access to regional centres across the Top End for remote area residents.

Many of our clients use our services to access medical care, retail businesses and a wide range of government departments and services.

Our fleet currently consists of two Mercedes 39 seater Axor Trucks, one Mercedes 31 seater Axor 4WD Truck, one Troop Carrier, a Brahman 28 seat AWD mini-coach and three 34 seater MAN Coaches which are fully air conditioned and customized to suit travel in remote areas. With our own in-workshop mechanic, our fleet is maintained to the highest standard to ensure their reliability in the rough dirt road conditions.

The Ngukurr route service is now running on drive-in times for the one day service. The rivers can now be crossed so until there is an upwards change in their levels the bus will be driving into Ngukurr. The bus will still leave Katherine at 7:30am so passengers are expected to check-in at 7am at the BP Carpark. Passengers are asked to wait at the pull-up area at the Oval (near the shop) in Ngukurr for an 11:30am checkin.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, there is no ferry service available on Tuesday, Feb 3rd. The Ngukurr service for that day will be cancelled. The next available service will be Friday, Feb 6th. If you were scheduled for Tuesday’s run please ring the office to rebook for Friday.

The Hodgson River Road to Minyerri has been upgraded from an 8t limit to 100% legal axle weight, so if the demand is there (in terms of bookings) we are able to send buses on that route once again.
